Armed Forces of 8/1

$ 30.00

In this poster, we see three classic propaganda motifs in one! The armed forces, with all three major branches represented: army, navy, and air force. The red flag, with the characters for 8/1, or “ba yi” visible. August 1st is an important date in Chinese history: the founding of the People’s Liberation Army and the Nanchang Uprising in 1927. Finally, if that wasn’t enough, we have four dogs writhing about in what doesn’t appear to be pleasure- these are the infamous Gang of Four: Jiang Qing, Zhang Chunqiao, Yao Wenyuan, and Wang Hongwen. All were later sentenced to imprisonment for their roles in “anti-party activity” and are now deceased. The text reads: “Dogs get crushed”.

Nobody did propaganda like the Chinese. This is your chance to own a bit of history.
